I'm tickled by these pickles

One of the food-related things I often say is “I think just about anything can be improved by lightly pickling it.” As for the classic pickle pick (cucumber pickles), I’m a fan. I’m even growing my own cucumbers this summer and quick-pickling them myself. But alas, my cucumbers grow slowly.

So I was delighted to find out that HelloFresh (the company known for its meal kits) was offering a Pickle Box for a limited time.

Apparently, I’m not alone in liking pickles. Based on survey results that indicated just how many people want to pick up some pickles, HelloFresh developed the Pickle Box. The box launched in July, which is National Pickle Month. HelloFresh partnered with several pickle brands to create the perfect mix of pickle products.

Did I, a person with a history of gastrointestinal issues, including chronic acid reflux, try all the products from the HelloFresh Pickle Box in one day? No. That would be madness. Did I, however, try so many pickle products over the course of 2-3 days that I woke up at 1 AM with heartburn? Yes. Yes, I did. But I regret nothing! Because it was delicious.

My favorites so far:

• As I’ve said before, I will literally do anything to improve my digestion (except, apparently, not eat too many pickle products), so I immediately gravitated toward the SuckerPunch Digestion Pickle Juice with Probiotics. Not only did it promise to improve my digestion, I liked the taste. I also liked the SuckerPunch Hydration Pickle Juice with Electrolytes. I regularly suffer from leg and foot cramps, and studies have suggested that pickle juice can help alleviate these cramps. I would absolutely buy both of these products again.

• I always like pickle chips, so I liked the Lay's® Dill Pickle Flavored Potato Chips quite a bit. I also liked the Pop Daddy Pretzels Dill Pickle Pretzel Sticks. Both of these products had a nice crunch.

• This was me when I tried Van Holten's Pickle Ice Flavored Freeze Pop:

  

  My least favorite:

• Neither my son nor I cared for the Fairy Tale Cotton Candy Pickle Cotton Candy.

Overall, I would say the HelloFresh Pickle Box is a great deal, and full of some very delicious pickles and pickle-flavored snacks. Five stars from me.
